LGBTQ+ Health & Wellbeing Service
Our LGBTQ+ Health and Wellbeing Service is here to support your whole self.
LGBTQ+ people can experience unique challenges and health inequalities, particularly around alcohol and drug use. This service offers an inclusive, affirming space where you can feel safe, seen and supported — whether you are seeking help, connection or simply a place to be yourself.
We provide tailored one-to-one support alongside a range of group sessions and community-led activities — from yoga, mindfulness and cooking to health workshops and social events.
Whether you are looking for support with your mental health, navigating life’s challenges or building new connections, we are here to walk alongside you — every step of the way.
-
Group sessions run weekly and are designed by wellbeing support workers in collaboration with the individuals who attend. These have included activities like communal cooking, yoga and open discussions on health and wellbeing. It is a chance to share experiences, learn new skills and support each other on the journey to better health.
-
One-to-one support is completely person-centred, meaning you decide what is most important to discuss with your worker. You will agree together on when and where to meet — whether at our Head Office or out in the community.
Quotes From Our Clients
"It can be so hard to meet other people in my community in settings that aren't focussed on substance use or dating. This is one of the first groups I've come to where I feel like I can really just relax and be myself without having to worry about pressures or how others are perceiving me."
"I've gone to other substance use services but I feel like they're really not equipped to talk about my identity, so I end up trying to talk about substance use out of context. It feels like they're only seeing part of the picture. A group like this is a big help."
“There has been times where this group really has saved my life.”
